Big Feats, Baby Steps

Today's Prompt: 5 Challenges. 5 Small Victories. Make a list of the 5 most difficult parts of your health focus. Make another top 5 list for the little, good things (small victories) that keep you going.
5 Challenges of Living with Diabetes

1 ~ Dealing with the threat of 'complications'. Waiting for the other shoe to drop.

2 ~ Taking time out of a busy life to tend to its every bidding. Never a break.

3 ~ Figuring out (guessing) the right amount of insulin for every task or meal.

4 ~ Keeping my numbers in a non-diabetic range.

5 ~ Following protocol to the letter. (alcohol swabbing, site rotation, lancet changing, etc.)

5 Small Victories I Can Claim

1 ~ Twenty ONE years and no complications!

2 ~ TWO healthy pregnancies and TWO adorable kids!

3 ~ Eating THREE relatively healthy home-cooked meals everyday!

4 ~ Keeping my A1c at or below 7.0 for the last FOUR years!

5 ~ Testing my blood sugar at least FIVE or more times per day and pouncing on out of range numbers aggressively!
