My husband knew I had diabetes before I even knew he existed. And all because of a silly question on my dating profile.
The question asked me to name the six things I could never do without.
My answer was:
"I have learned over the years that there's nothing that I couldn't live without. I used to say diet coke, but then I went caffeine-free. I used to say certain people, but then I lost them. So I have to reduce it to the biological necessities: (1) food, (2) water, (3) oxygen, (4) shelter, (5) insulin, (6) human contact. The six things I'd hope not to have to live without, however, are my friends, my folks, my brain, my health, music, and milk chocolate."
Months later, when he finally got up the nerve to email me, he already knew. Or assumed at least.
Challenged in 2012 to come up with 10 things I can't live without though, I'd rather list 10 that make my life worth living.
1. Hubster
2. Sweetie
3. Baby Dibbs - happy 2 months!
4. Teaching
5. Cooking
6. Writing
7. Singing
8. Coffee
9. Pajama walks with my family
10. Nutella
I want to go on a pajama walk!!!
